Microsoft Office 2010 was officially launched in May 2009 by Microsoft as the successor of MS Office 2007. Multiple new improvements were included to the 2010 suite but still existed with XML-based formats including .docx, .pptx, .xlsx, and .aspx. So, you need not use a converter or compatibility pack to open a saved file in Office 2010 into Office 2007.

Backstage View

Quick Access Toolbar  

It is housed in the top left corner of the interface where you can use the commonly used commands such as save a document, undo any action, etc. So here the user can customize any set of commands according to the requirements.

The addition of clip-art images in Office 2010 helps the users decorate their documents reliably. It is an easy and quick procedure, and you will find it quite difficult to select your required image from this awesome collection. You also replace the image in case of insert the wrong one in your documents. Use editing tools such as brighter, cropping, or trimming, if your image doesn’t perfectly match with the entire setting of the documents.  

Macro Support

Friendly User-interface

Workspace as the replacement for Office Groove 2007. In Ribbon different items are grouped according to their context such as the Home Ribbon tab includes all editing commands. MS Word  

MS Word has multiple new changes such as;  

  • Use the Insert tab for inserting any of your required screenshots into your documents. You can select a specific part of the window using the Screen Clipping option.   
  • The search results are stored in the left-hand side panel for quick and direct access to them. You can open the Find tab using the Home tab.  
  • The translation option has been improved as it is possible to translate a specific part of text or even a word.  

Outlook  

  • Multiple new editing tools are available to edit graphics and pictures.  
  • Apply effects to your inserted shapes.  
  • Organize your emails using the Conversation View option.  
  • Use multiple options from Outlook Ribbon for managing your conversation. Simply click on the Ignore option and send all conversations to the Deleted Items folder.  
  • Select the Quick Steps from the Home tab to perform multiple common features including sending messages to different folders, marking them as read, replying to an email, or deleting emails.  
  • Manage multiple calendars using the Schedule View option.  

MS Excel  

Sparkline is the most amazing feature in Excel that can help in inserting graphics into a spreadsheet cell to give context to the data.  

PowerPoint  

  • Use the Format tab for adding photo effects including saturation, brightness, contrast, and so on  
  • An advanced cropping tool and multiple artistic filters are available.  
  • Multiple video effects i.e. video fades, reflections, bevels, 3-D rotation, and so on can be used for editing and embedding.  
  • Manage multiple presentations and monitors in separate windows.  

System Requirements for MS Office 2010  

  • Windows 7 or later OS. Earlier versions may not be suitable or work well.  
  • At least 1 GB RAM is necessary.  
  • The processor should have a clock speed of at least 500 MHz.
